Staying in Kolhapur and not visiting Mahabaleshwar is a No No!! As it is just 188 km (3hr 30mins aprox) away from Kolhapur. But somehow we were not able to make it possible to visit. Last time when we had planned to visit mahabaleshwar in July. W e had to cancel the trip as we got the news that the weather there turned bad . We were left with no choice but to cancel the trip and stay back home.
After a year an half since then we finally managed to make it to Mahabaleshwar. As we reached there early morning and checked in the hotel. Then sat at the pool side restaurant having our morning breakfast, with a cool weather there. Me and my family members enjoyed looked at the beauty of Mahabaleshwar and strawberry plantation there. Having the same thoughts - "Oh that Strawberry's"
Fortunately the weather that morning was so awesome. We had actually expected the same and we had a great start to the day. Had a great time swimming in hotel's pool after having breakfast. Then we visited the table land after lunch and did horse riding there. Then later at night we visited mahabaleshwar main market did some shopping there. Where I took a sweater as it was so cold there. Because i had forgotten to pack my sweater while leaving. So overall it was really a awesome day.
Next day we had a trip to various points in old Mahabaleshwar. One interesting thing about the points that the guide took us to point called lovers point and suicide point. He mentioned that the same point has both the names. We wondered that maybe first time boy and girl meet, it is lovers point. They suicided there and it is suicide point. Just the way you look at it.
The same day after having lunch we took some rest and started our journey back to kolhapur. Having great memories of mahabaleshwar. On the way back we also visited the famous mapro garden which a must visit place before leaving mahabaleshwar. So finally after a long wait we had a awesome mahabaleshwar trip.
